How to Create an App Password for Gmail / Gsuite / Google Workspace Mailbox

In this guide, we'll show you how to create a dedicated app password for your Gmail / Gsuite / Google Workspace mailbox when connecting to Mailivery. By adding two-factor authentication, generating an app password, and enabling IMAP, you can securely connect your Gmail or Google Workspace mailbox.

Step 1: Enable two-factor authentication:

  • Go to your Google Account.
  • Select Security.
  • Under "How you sign in to Google," select 2-Step Verification. Follow the steps to turn on 2-Step Verification. 

Step 2: Add an app password for Mailivery to your Google account:

After 2-Step Verification has been enabled, please follow the steps below:
  • In the search bar of the Google Accounts page, search for "app password" and select the App passwords result, or use the link provided.

Note:
If you don't see the "App passwords" option, it may be due to your account’s security settings or administrator restrictions.

Step 3: Create an App Password for Mailivery:
  • Enter Mailivery for the name of app and click the Create button. 

You have now successfully created an app password for your Gmail / Gsuite / Google Workspace Mailbox for Mailivery. Use this password when prompted during the mailbox connection process to successfully add in your mailbox for warmup.
